Ryo Sakurai was born in 1992 in Osaka prefecture.
After obtaining a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Studies, The University of Tokyo, he joined Dentsu.
In addition to planning TV and radio commercials, he also works on the production of radio programme scripts and measures to create buzz on the web.
As a commercial planner, his representative works include PayPay, Daiichi Sankyo digestive medicine, Autobacs and Nissin Yakisoba U.F.O. 'U.F.O. Tabe Time Leap'.
As a composition writer, he has also worked on TBS Radio's 'Diane's TOKYO STYLE' and 'Hissatsu Sodannin', and the TBS podcast 'Midnight Walk'.
In 2022, he was awarded the ACC Gold for the interfm radio commercial 'Life in Japan', for which he himself was the creative director. In 2023, he received the TCC Newcomer Award. Currently a member of the Tokyo Copywriters Club.
